About the VLF

The Visual Learning Foundation is an art and design education consultancy for primary schools. It was established in 1994 by art advisory teachers Trilby Lawlor, Judy Cam and Ruth Elia. It offers art and design INSET courses and INSET days in schools to help teachers teach art and design well. It has a large art studio base in a primary school near Kings Cross in central London.

The VLF has a well established termly course programme for primary teachers and assistant teachers at the VLF base near Kings Cross in central London. Our courses are well received and many teachers return to us for further training. At our base we exhibit current displays of children’s art projects exemplifying good practice and levels of achievement in art and design. For many years the VLF has developed new curriculum materials for art and design some of which are published, others are accessible through film and television programmes.
